Delegates at this seminar considered next steps for cancer care delivery, and policy priorities for the Parliament.
It was a timely opportunity to assess implementation of NHS England’s five-year action plan to provide prevention, faster diagnosis and better treatment, care and aftercare for cancer patients.
Discussion was informed by updated NICE guidelines which aim to assist GPs in recognising the symptoms of cancer so that patients can be diagnosed earlier.
Further sessions focused on challenges for Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England in integrating services, latest developments in research, and next steps for the Cancer Drugs Fund.
