This seminar provided a timely opportunity for delegates to discuss the latest policy developments and emerging challenges facing the European and UK copyright framework.
It took place in the context of the European Commission consultation seeking industry views on harmonising copyright across the EU, as the UK Government begins to implement important reforms to UK copyright law - particularly for collective rights management - following the Hargreaves Review, as well as the Government's announcement of a delay to the introduction of anti-piracy code until 2015. Sessions examined the next steps for UK copyright policy in the wider context of the European framework, the priorities and challenges for the Copyright Hub and the emerging ways policymakers, rights-holders, ISPs, advertisers and others within the value chain can work together to combat copyright infringement.
