Delegates at this seminar examined data protection regulation in Europe and the UK. Alongside the European framework, UK policy priorities and preparations for private and public organisations, delegates considered practical examples of strategies, standards and technologies that contribute to innovative system designs and workplace cultures that aim to assure data protection.
With questions arising over a harmonised data protection regime for Europe and the impact of data protection rules on part-anonymised, or pseudonymised data, delegates addressed the data privacy and commercial implications for businesses and consumers. Sessions also looked at the usage, ownership and security challenges arising from data on information infrastructures, including the cloud, portable devices and from geo-location data.
