This seminar provided a timely opportunity to examine the future of nuclear energy in the UK.
Delegates at this conference discussed the future role of nuclear energy in the UK energy mix following the confirmation of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant. They also considered what the prospect of new build nuclear stations will mean for the construction sector and other industries; and how best to address safety concerns and engage local communities.
Further sessions examined whether the UK is ready for nuclear expansion with discussion on skills; investment; waste disposal and international cooperation.
