This seminar discussed the future for post-14 education in England at a time of considerable change. Bringing together key stakeholders - including FE colleges, universities, employers, schools and awarding bodies - the conference examined the initial impact of University Technical Colleges (UTCs) and Studio Schools, as well as proposals to introduce new Career Colleges and the role of FE colleges in providing 14-16 education.
Sessions looked at the future landscape of 14-19 education in England more broadly, including the role that industry and universities could play in developing further specialist post-14 settings - for example in the arts or sports, the impact on school 6th forms and 6th form colleges of current changes in the sector and how the various pathways now available at 14 integrate with wider reforms to the qualifications system.
