This seminar examined the future for maternity care policy and service delivery, and the impact of the implementation of NHS England and the reformed NHS on care.
It followed the release of the NAO's report on maternity, the recommendations of which included the need for more midwives and consultants.
Further sessions focused on the training and continuity of the midwifery workforce following the authorisation of Health Education England, and the key issues surrounding commissioning, inequalities and service outcomes improvement.
