This seminar focused on the next steps for integrating NHS delivery in Wales following the release in May 2013 of NHS Wales Delivery Framework 2013-14 and Future Plans.
It also included discussion on ensuring quality in NHS Wales - Delivery Safe Care, Compassionate Care Learning - the Welsh Government response to the Mid Staffordshire Inquiry, released in July 2013.
The seminar brought together key policymakers with stakeholders - including Local Health Boards, GPs and nursing groups, patient representatives, pharmacies and local authorities.
Sessions focused on effective planning and organisation of resources within health and social care services; recruitment, training and development of the workforce; development of integration and partnerships within the NHS; the importance of raising quality and standards; and the potential benefits and best practice in the procurement of telecare.
