This seminar presented an opportunity to examine the impact so far of the new Ofsted inspection regime for schools - at the end of its first academic year in place - and to look ahead at the future of how schools are to be held accountable for their performance.
Delegates also discussed steps that can be taken to tackle poor-performing and 'coasting' schools, as well as proposed reforms to school league tables.
Further sessions addressed issues of local accountability - looking specifically at Ofsted's new regional structure, the initial impact of the ParentView scheme and the proposed new Inspection Framework for local authority school improvement services.
