This seminar brought out latest developments and thinking on the direction of policy for the future of services and activities for young people in England, as a range of key services, structures and initiatives have been were being re-assessed by policymakers.
Discussion included the next steps for the National Citizen Service as the scheme prepared for expansion, the role of the private sector in providing youth clubs and other services as local authorities and MyPlace Centres faced funding pressures, and the continuing implementation of Government's Positive for Youth programme.
Delegates assessed further policy options and the future for such services against a drawing together learning from trial programmes. This seminar brought together senior Government and regulatory officials with National Citizen Service Providers, representatives of local authorities, youth workers, leisure service providers and other businesses, children's charities, and young people's groups.
