As Ofqual conducted an inquiry into the quality of the marking system and consulted on changes to GCSEs, this seminar focused on both the themes of the inquiry and the future shape of the exams and qualifications system in England more widely. Delegates - including awarding bodies, schools, teaching unions, student groups, academics and publishers - discussed the future structure of the qualifications system, including GCSE reforms and how these fit with reforms to A-levels and vocational qualifications. Attendees also examined the regulatory system for awarding bodies as well as next steps for the marking of examinations.
