This seminar examined the future of social care and followed on from the Commission on Funding of Care and Support, which recommended social care costs in England should be capped so people do not face losing a large percentage of their assets. The seminar examined the recommendations of the Commission, how social care fitted in with a reformed NHS, what more could have been done to integrate health and social care, the role of local government in service provision, and more widely, the future for social care provision and finance in England.
