Publications

Shortly after every Westminster Food & Nutrition Forum seminar, a briefing document is produced. This is distributed to all delegates on the day as well as to our contacts in government, parliament and stakeholders in the education sector more widely.

A Forum publication provides a timely record of proceedings, and acts as a guide to the latest thinking on current policy issues for those unable to be at the event.

Each publication includes:

  • All speeches from the day, with accompanying slides and speaker biographies
    (subject to approval by speaker);
  • Transcripts of question and comment sessions;
  • Supplementary articles from speakers and delegates; and
  • Event information such as the delegate list and final agenda

Obesity - time for a new approach?

TO BE PUBLISHED February 2011

This seminar will discuss the next steps required to meet the challenge of obesity and assess the progress of regional and national approaches to obesity prevention in achieving lasting behavioural change. Planned sessions examine the way forward in developing evidence-based practice in obesity prevention and care, and analyse the performance of current social marketing campaigns such as Change4Life. Discussion will also consider the cost-effectiveness of different approaches to tackling obesity in the context of constraints on public spending.
