Delegates at this seminar assessed the UK telecoms sector, focusing on market structures, innovation and pricing.
It took place a year on from the Government issued its response to Ofcom’s strategic review of digital, and as Ofcom ordered the legal separation on BT and its Openreach division in order to create a more level playing field.
It was also timed during a period of uncertainty over the future for the UK regulatory framework for telecoms in anticipation of the UK process of withdrawal from the European Union, and in anticipation of a new legislation for electronic communications infrastructure and services.
Sessions considered the latest developments in policy to promote growth, innovation and quality of services in the UK telecoms market and the UK digital economy’s wider competitiveness, as well as examining industry initiatives in strengthening the consumer offer across fixed, mobile, broadband and TV services to encourage fair market competition.
