This seminar considered the next steps and policy priorities for the UK energy market in light of the CMA’s recommendations as part of their investigation into the market.
With government’s commitment to implement the recommendations in full - and in light of the introduction of draft legislation that aims to increase competition and reduce costs to consumers - delegates discussed what the proposed changes will mean for energy suppliers, customer billing, future tariff options, and regulation for a competitive market.
Additional sessions focused on the progress of smart meter installations and the future for the use of flexible and more accurate billing data, what is being done to protect vulnerable users and improve engagement with customers as a whole, as well as opportunities for improving how quickly and easily customers can switch tariffs.
