Scheduled to follow the release of the UK’s first national space policy - which set out Government’s aims for the UK to capture a greater share of the world’s space market, and became the European hub for commercial spaceflight - this seminar assessed key priorities for developing growth and competitiveness across the UK’s space economy. The discussion also followed the Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry into space and satellites, which considered key challenges facing the Government and industry in developing and implementing new space capabilities and services.
Delegates discussed future priorities for the UK’s space sector, with latest thinking on access to finance, government support and the development of new space technologies. The agenda also looked at latest trends in areas such as innovation, investment and exploitation of satellite data, as well as what more policymakers can do to provide a competitive regulatory environment and facilitate international collaboration.
The seminar brought together key players from the UK space sector including central government departments and policymakers, industry leaders, digital and infrastructure organisations, trade associations, consultants, academics, end-users, education providers and financial backers and investors, alongside trade and national press.
