Priorities for pensions policy in the UK

December 2016

Price: £95 PLUS VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

As industry voices expressed concern over the potential impact of the EU referendum on the pensions market, this seminar examined the future direction of policy on pensions.

Delegates considered the post-referendum economic landscape, including the potential knock-on effects on the pensions triple lock and pensions tax-relief.

The agenda also included discussion on the challenges for improving transparency in the pensions market, with regard to value for money, hidden charges and transaction costs.

Additional sessions explored action that can be taken to ensure that consumers are able to access truly independent advice and are able to make informed decisions about the right retirement products for them, in light of the Work and Pensions Select Committee’s inquiry on pension freedom guidance and advice and ahead of the creation of the new pensions dashboard.

The seminar brought together key policymakers with stakeholders, including pension and annuities providers and other representatives from the financial services sector, representatives of employers and trade unions, pensioners' rights and consumer groups, academics and others with an interest in these issues.
