Following the launch of the Government’s Culture White Paper, this seminar was an opportunity to analyse the key proposals of the strategy, and consider the future of arts, culture and heritage across the UK.
Sessions considered the role of culture in society, assessing the social, educational and health benefits of participation in cultural activities, and how to ensure equal opportunities for engagement, as well as the development of local strategies and partnerships to ensure culture is embedded in future regeneration and economic growth.
Further sessions looked at the future of cultural investment in the UK, examining funding models and ensuring that they are equipped to secure the long-term economic sustainability for institutions across all regions and explored the ways in which culture can further contribute to the UK’s international trade, exports and influence.
