With the Government recently responding to the Chief Medical Officer’s new guidelines for alcohol consumption following consultation, attendees at this seminar considered next steps for alcohol policy.
It was an opportunity to assess the impact of the guidelines on helping people make informed decisions about their own drinking, as well as wider implications for the alcohol industry.
Further sessions focused on the role of partnerships between the public sector and businesses, including the future of local alcohol action areas in which local agencies, including licensing authorities, health bodies and the police address problems being caused by alcohol in their area.
