This seminar was an opportunity to assess policy priorities for improving outcomes in diabetes care.
Following the launch of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, delegates considered early progress of demonstrator sites in identifying and referring those at risk of type 2 diabetes, as well as the developing role of NICE guidelines in prevention and treatment.
Further sessions focused on partnership working between the NHS and industry, the impact of new models of care in integrating diabetes services, and effectively utilising National Diabetes Inpatient Audit data to improve hospital care.
