Key policymakers and stakeholders at this seminar assessed the Government’s priorities for drug addiction and treatment in England ahead of the new drug strategy.
It was an opportunity to evaluate the drug treatment system in the context of the reported increase in drug-related deaths, with sessions focusing on the recovery agenda, service commissioning and funding.
Further sessions assessed key themes in the Government's independent review of employment outcomes for people with potentially treatable conditions such as addictions to drugs, as well as issues around mental health services, and housing and education programmes, in terms of their interaction with programmes on substance misuse and recovery.
