This seminar enabled discussion on key issues coming out of the Education Technology Action Group (ETAG)'s progress report, published in early 2016.
Discussion focused on the progress made so far in implementing ETAG’s 2015 recommendations, and latest thinking on the use of digital technology in the classroom and the potential for expansion.
Sessions included current best practice examples of innovative learning approaches such as flipped learning, MOOCs for schools, game-based learning and digital high stakes summative assessment, and how these can be used to complement and transform teaching - and to optimise learning outcomes for all, including its use for those with special educational needs.
The agenda also looked at further issues such as improving access, developing training and professional development opportunities for staff, reducing workload for school staff and investing in school infrastructure to help accommodate the use of modern technologies.
