April 2016

Price: £95 PLUS VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

The impact of digital technology on fashion is creating new opportunities - and disruption - across design, manufacturing, retailing and marketing. This seminar analysed latest trends, the development of strategies and best practise, and areas where the sector and policymakers need to act to maintain competitiveness for the UK fashion industry.
Sessions examined the new business of fashion and how brands and retailers are implementing digital strategies - in app development, wider ecommerce and on the high street - to meet changing consumer habits and demands, including developments in personalisation and data, purchasing models, and technology for multi-channel retail.
With the new Apprenticeship Levy confirmed in the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement, sessions considered concerns surrounding the quality of work-based training and priorities for securing the right skill sets for the sector as it evolves. The seminar also examined further areas for policy and support – including protection for design rights, and help for start-ups and smaller growing businesses.
