This seminar was a timely opportunity to discuss priorities for supporting the arts and cultural sectors across the UK. Delegates examined the roles of central, devolved and local governments, national development agencies, funding bodies and the private sector including media organisations. In the context of the cultural, social and economic value of the arts and culture to the UK, the agenda brought out latest thinking on the way forward for public sector funding, as well as prospects for strengthening private revenue streams through cross-sector partnerships, corporate sponsorship, digital innovation and philanthropy. Sessions also considered best practice examples and strategies for widening and diversifying audiences in light of the Warwick Commission's final report highlighting inequalities in access to the arts.
