Westminster Health Forum

Priorities for improving payment systems and reimbursement in healthcare

Morning, Thursday, 3rd May 2018

The Caledonian Club, 9 Halkin Street, London SW1X 7DR

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

This seminar provides a timely opportunity to discuss the role and development of different payment systems within the NHS, as NHS England and NHS Improvement develop the basis of the next NHS Standard Contract and the tariff system for 2019/20.

Delegates will consider new payment approaches and their part in fulfilling the Five Year Forward View’s commitment to person-centred and integrated care services - including local payment examples for delivering new care models and the Improvement Payment Scheme.

Attendees will also look at next steps for moving towards integrated budgets as part of the Accountable Care Organisation (ACO) Contract - in light of NHS England’s second consultation on contracting arrangements for ACOs, which will cover issues around how the contract will fit within the NHS, statutory duties and governance, and public accountability and patient choice.

Further sessions will examine the future of Payment by Results (PbR) and the role of multilateral gains/loss sharing in developing integrated care models.
