Westminster Health Forum

Priorities for mental health services in England

Morning, Thursday, 1st February 2018

Central London

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

Following the Prime Minister’s recent announcement of an independent review of the Mental Health Act, this seminar considers the next steps for transforming mental health care in England.

Sessions will assess the role of Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) in increasing access to evidence-based mental health services and in integrating care, key challenges for the mental health workforce, and priorities for delivering a whole-system approach to mental health care.

Delegates will also discuss key issues for children and young people’s mental health services (CAHMS) in light of the Government’s Green Paper, expected to be published later this year; the Care Quality Commission’s ongoing thematic review of CAHMS; and the Government’s evaluation of their collaboration with schools.

They will also consider priorities for prevention - including the role of employers, challenges for developing specialised care services for veterans and new mothers, and the next steps for implementing the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.
