Next steps for maternity services in England: personalisation, patient safety and Local Maternity Systems

This seminar will be an opportunity to discuss the next steps for maternity services in England.


Delegates will assess the impact of new models of maternity care and the developing role of Local Maternity Systems (LMS) in implementing Better Births.


They will also consider findings from the Maternity Transformation Programme Early Adopters, and progress on aligning plans with Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs).


Further sessions will focus on priorities for maternity safety and the role of NHS Improvement’s Maternity and Neonatal Health Safety Collaborative; key issues for collaboration and workforce development following Brexit; indications from the Maternity Choice and Personalisation Pioneers; next steps for the supervision and regulation of maternity services and progress made towards the national ambition to reduce the rate of stillbirths by 50 per cent by 2030.
