This seminar will bring together policymakers and stakeholders to discuss key priorities for planning and delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK.
Delegates will discuss options for addressing the challenges of delivering major infrastructure projects, drawing in part on areas highlighted in the NIC’s priority actions for government statement - including HS2, deployment of 5G mobile networks and supporting renewable energy.
With the Government’s Industrial Strategy announcing substantial new funding for infrastructure projects across the UK - and as the NIC prepares for the publication of its 2018 National Infrastructure Assessment, attendees will also assess what is most needed from infrastructure development to contribute to sustained UK economic growth.
Further sessions will look at the planning framework for NSIP applications, challenges around workforce skills and wider issues for planning, financing and delivering local projects; as well as considering proposals to reform planning policy and legislation in light of the recently released Draft revised National Planning Policy Framework.
